A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study was conducted to evaluate the formulation's safety and effectiveness for treating functional dyspepsia-related migraine headaches.
Using polyherbal formulation and dietary abstinence can positively influence the frequency, length, and intensity of migraine headaches. In combination with dietary abstinence and sodium valproate, the polyherbal formulation can improve functional dyspepsia.
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study was conducted to evaluate the formulation's safety and effectiveness for treating functional dyspepsia-related migraine headaches.
Overall, 75 subjects with diagnosed migraine headaches along with concomitant functional dyspepsia were randomly assigned to one of three groups: (1) the polyherbal formulation, sodium valproate (VPA), and amitriptyline group; (2) the polyherbal formulation, amitriptyline, and VPA placebo group; (3) the polyherbal formulation and VPA placebo group.
At baseline, weeks 4, 8, and 12, the major endpoints assessed were severity, length, and frequency of migraine headaches attacks. However, secondary outcomes, such as Headache Impact Test-6 (HIT-6) Questionnaire and Parkman’s score, were assessed at the start and conclusion of therapy.
Compared to the baseline, the severity, duration, and frequency of migraine, HIT-6, and functional dyspepsia scores at the conclusion of therapy were significantly lower in all three groups. At the conclusion of the research, the differences in those characteristics between the three groups were not significant. The polyherbal formulation exhibited remarkable effects on functional dyspepsia and can be used as an adjuvant therapy with VPA for migraine headaches.
The polyherbal formulation by itself may help migraine sufferers and other groups with their symptoms. This impact could result from migraine sufferers' improvement in digestion and functional dyspepsia.
